OPTION 5

In this option, the main section of the house remains mostly unchanged. A small WC is slotted underneath the stairs and the rear window has been removed to create a connection to the new side-return extension.

Much of the side wall of the outrigger has been removed at ground-floor level, but some sections have been retained to minimise structural work. A plot width of around 6m would be required to comfortably accommodate a kitchen island and a dining table in the side return. So, in this option the dining area is at the rear of the property, with a window seat providing space-efficient dining seating. Although this option does create a great sense of space, much of the space created is for circulation.
